I am a graduate student and received some stipend of $1000 from Americorp to help pay towards my tution. I got a statement this year for it and gave it to my parent since I am still considered as a “dependent” to file tax.
The accountant came back with a form and a slip for me to mail to U.S Treasury for $11 and no money back. I don’t understand why I have to pay them money for filing only $1000 income while other people like my parents get some money back? What’s

I just got married last year and we bought a house. I owe the IRS taxes from my business back in 1999. They have been taking my refund ever since, but they know that I can not pay them. Now that I’m married and we bought this house, should we file joint using the long form 1040 or is there a way to file so my Wife can claim the interest we paid on the house. Her name is first, since she makes more money than I. I just don’t want a lien on our house. Any help or suggestions w

I think that it is 11! / 3!(11-3)! because this is what we are going over right now but apparently I am doing something wrong because my answer is not one of my choices. Am I using the wrong formula for this problem or am I doing something wrong. would I just simply do 11×10x9? Please any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

It said my refund was mailed on the 8th but at the bottom there was a note that said my refund may be reduces to pay a past due obligation such as child support or another federal agency debt. It did not have this note until they said the mailed the check on the 8th before that there wasn’t anything there. So can anyone tell what that means are they taking my refund?

Hi,
I am a non-US resident and provide counseling services on a website. The website represents an American company and, as such, they require all advisers to submit tax forms with proof that they paid their taxes to the IRS.
Since I am not an US resident – and therefore presume that the IRS does not care if I paid taxes to my country – I would like to know if they would require me to submit this form, or what laws apply in this situation.
Thank you!

I owe $5,000.00 and don’t own a home, rent, and have $5,000.00 credit card debt. The IRS has a lien on my credit there for can’t get a loan to pay these people off. Problem, a figure was put on the WRONG line, so NO I am NOT a crook………..HONEST american, just am getting ripped off by the AMERICAN GOVERNMENT

does the irs have a tax called the fiscal activity?
